I analyse contemporary Latin American literature and film, always in relationship with the historical, political and social context in which cultural works are produced. My main research interests involve the literary representation of space, intimacy and the senses, and transnational memory discourses. In my book, El espacio narrativo en la novela chilena postdictatorial. Casas habitadas (BRILL, 2016), I examine how contemporary Chilean writers represent changes in the experience of space and place after the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. My new research project focusses on landscapes in fantastic literature and film.
I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at UGent and UC Berkeley. From October 2018 I am assistant professor of Spanish Literature and Culture at Stockholm University.
